There is an Emergency Order that took effect Sunday, May 15th. It affects all Wisconsin Lake Michigan fishermen using downriggers. Effective Sunday, you MUST have a pair of wire cutters available, on-board, to cut your downrigger cable should it become snagged or entangled. This is a result of the fisherman that died last year north of Sheboygan when his downrigger became entangled in a Commercial Trapnet.
