First Fish-In of the Year Cancelled Due to Small Craft Advisory

Well folks, we hate to say it, but Mother Nature threw us a curveball — or maybe more appropriately, a rogue wave.

Due to the Small Craft Advisory issued for Saturday, the first fish-in of the year has been cancelled. With forecasted northeast to east winds of 15–20 knots and waves building to 3–5 feet, this is one of those times where the best fishing decision is made from shore.

We know everyone was excited to kick off the season, but safety comes first. No fish is worth turning the lake into a washing machine with hooks.

We’ll get another date on the calendar soon, so keep your rods ready, your tackle organized, and your excuses polished. The fish may have won this round, but we’ll be back.

Our next GLSF Membership meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th at 7pm at Joe’s K Ranch. The program for this meeting will be the winning Team and Captain from the 2026 Brew City Salmon Tournament on August 1st. Hopefully you can be there to share your thoughts! We hope to “livecast” this meeting, as it is our first membership meeting after a summer of fishing!!
