About Milwaukee GLSF
Milwaukee’s Salmon and Trout Club Since 1972
“An organization of sportsmen dedicated to the enjoyment, preservation and improvement of salmon and trout fishing in the Great Lakes.”
Who We Are
Captains, Weekend Trollers, and Kids With Their First Coho
We’re charter captains and Saturday-morning trollers, retirees who have fished this lake for fifty years and kids who just landed their first fish. What we have in common is Lake Michigan, and a belief that the fishing gets better when people share what they know.
The club runs as a nonprofit foundation with a volunteer board elected by the members. Nobody here is paid to care about the fishery. We just do.

What We Do
Four Reasons We Get Up Before Dawn
On the Water
Club fish-ins, a season-long fishing contest, and the Brew City Salmon Tournament, the best excuse all summer to set a 3 a.m. alarm.
In the Room
Monthly meetings with speakers from the DNR, the charter fleet, and the tackle bench, plus the Spring Seminar every year.
For the Fishery
We work with the DNR on stocking and with Milwaukee County Parks on the fish cleaning stations, and we speak up when sport anglers need a voice.
For the Community
Kids’ fishing clinics every spring, and donated catch that becomes meals. In 2026 the Brew City weigh-in alone sent 2,080 pounds of fillets to Hunger Task Force.
